This week, we finalized our usage of two crucial API's to the success of our android application: Firebase and Location Services.

We opted to go with location services over GPS because the former uses both GPS and WiFi links to return location coordinates more quickly than the latter. Another reason that we opted to use location services is because of the geo-fencing feature that is relatively easy to use in that API.

In Week 2, we completed preliminary research for Firebase, but did not write any code. This week, we actually set up our account, linked it to the application package, and built three basic functions to edit data: create, read, and update. This weekend and next week, we will finalize the data structure that we will use in our app and continue to improve our delightful interface that will make for a worthwhile user experience.
